Kate’s

best day

Ever

In this Post-Covid remote workspace world, sometimes we need to take a break from our homes and venture out into the world in the discovery of new and inviting spaces.  As stunning as it is to be seen at WeWork and Soho House, there’s nothing like a picturesque cafe or coffee shop to help you focus and breathe some new life into your professional and personal projects.

Romancing the Bean – Burbank – @romancingthebean

Nestled on the ever fantastic Magnolia Street, Romancing the Bean has it all.  Quaint little outdoor patio?  Check!  Fantastic menu, pastries, and coffee?  You know it!  Free wifi!  Oh joy!  Rapture! This family owned cafe will truly remind you of coming home and having a classic sandwich on par with the ones your mother used to make.  The lemon ricotta scone is a work of pure genius as it crumbles gracefully into your mouth!  Street parking makes visiting here easy as pie, and afterwards feel free to stroll around Magnolia to shop and walk off the perfectly curated tuna melt or lox bagel you’ve recently devoured!

Romancing the Bean! Simply Perfect!

Cafecito Orgánico – Silverlake – @cafecitoorganico

Hip and trendy with coffee that is sure to give you a buzz, Cafecito Organico is where all the cool kids like to hang!  With its covered, yet eternally sunny patio, this bright and happy space reminds you why you moved to LA to follow your dreams. While their pastries are delightful, the star is their coffee. Cafecito works directly with local and sustainable farms in Central America to acquire the best beans possible.  So grab a SoCal Flat White (with 4 espresso shots) and get to work on that rewrite already!

Writing fun in the sun at Cafecito Organico!

Village Bakery and Cafe – Los Feliz – @thevillagebakeryandcafe

Baked goods and free wifi?  Sign me up!   Village Bakery has an adorable cottage core interior with a treats case to die for.  From the vegan & gluten free snacks and a full breakfast & lunch menu, Village Bakery handles all of your delicious dishes with love and care.  Standouts are the rotating homemade soups and the VBTLA (Vegan Bacon Tomato & Lettuce Sandwich).  After completing your blog (who me?), grab some house made granola and this week’s themed adorable macaron (hamburgers or tiny bats, anyone?) to enjoy on the drive home.

Bodega Wine Bar – Santa Monica – @bodegasantamonica

Come out to the coast, work from home, have a few laughs.  Your boss might think you’re snuggled in your home office, but at Bodega Wine Bar, you’re gonna be sipping on rosé, soaking up the sun, and vibing with the west side lifestyle!   Open as early as 7am, BWB sets you up in a living room style vibe perfect for work meetings, solo writing sessions, or a first date.  Friendly, and not overly pushy, BWB encourages us to enjoy ourselves to the fullest.  With their proximity to the beach, you can reward yourself with a walk along the sand as the sun goes down, making Bodega Wine Bar an absolute local delight.

Nobody is as hip as you will be at Bodega Wine Bar!

The Semi-Tropic – Echo Park – @thesemitropic

Dark and inviting, The Semi-Tropic is a perfect place for those who like to sleep in until 12 pm or later to come and work.  Open at 2pm daily, Semi-Tropic has spacious work areas and a daily happy hour from 2pm – 6pm.  With a strict no laptop policy after 6pm, Semi-Tropic truly encompasses the idea of transition from work to play with effortless ease.  With HH glasses of wine or pints of beer for only $6, and small bites to boot, Semi-Tropic is there rain or shine for all your remote work needs.

Stunning Semi-Tropic Emerald Green!

Highly Likely Cafe – West Adams – @highlylikelycafe

We LOVE an all day cafe, especially one as plant and wine forward as Highly Likely.  With a stunning open floor plan that lets in LA’s year round gorgeous weather, HL also has baked goods and a menu that can keep you sustained as you circle back to those emails. The Brunch fries are a true standout, with two eggs any style, and some arugula for ya know…health reasons.  The Bodega squish soft bun with scrambled eggs and cheese sauce is perfect to munch on as you look up how to properly execute a montage in your screenplay.   If wine is what you desire, their monthly wine club is only $75, who could ask for anything more?

Highly Likely is coming in HOT!

Coffee Connection – Mar Vista – @coffeeconnectionla

Established in 2000 in the remains of Bruno’s Ristorante, Coffee Connection looks as if you’ve walked into an Italian dream.  With its brick archways, stained glass windows, and “water wall” covered in ferns and fountains, CC teleports you away to the dreamy coffee houses of Western Europe.  What really makes CC truly special is its commitment to the community.  From catering school meetings, to helping donate profits to neighborhood charities in need, to ensuring the use of fair trade coffee and tea.  Coffee Connection is a gem of a spot that actively contributes to the needs of their local and global community.

Coffee Connection transports us far and away!
