With summer just around the corner, the need for bright & fun attire is at an all time high! Shopping is a classic SoCal pastime. Sure, you can always hit up The Americana or The Grove, or even drop some mega bucks in Beverly Hills, sometimes you want to support your local small businesses. Below I’ve found three fantastic boutiques that are here to help you look your best while galavanting around Los Angeles this year!
Sidecca – Altadena – @sidecca
Sidecca is absolutely electric. Its bright and happy colors paired with affordable fashion make this store a must. With unique items that change with the holidays and seasons, Sidecca has everything you need for that big summer BBQ, picnics at the Hollywood Bowl, or even just a cute Saturday “errands outfit.” Women and POC owned, this store has been around for over a decade. Their new location in Altadena boasts plenty of parking, three enormous dressing rooms, and a stunning accessories section, with a selection of clear fruit shaped purses & bags that are simply to die for!
Dresscue – Studio City & Atwater Village – @dresscue.la
Dresscue is the perfect place to procure a new summer (or fall, winter, or spring) wardrobe without hurting the environment (the fast fashion industry causes a substantial amount of our planet’s air pollution). As a secondhand store, Dresscue is a warm welcome to freshen up your closet. Anyone can rent a rack for $200 for two weeks, making this store size and style inclusive. Even if you are shopping on a strict budget, there is always a rack for you. As with most consignment shops, sometimes you score and sometimes you don’t! That’s the power of secondhand, that last magical piece of clothing you were looking for might be waiting for you! You’ll find it at Dresscue!
Audrey K – Burbank – @audreykboutique
Audrey K will always and forever have the best window displays in all of Los Angeles. Queer Women owned, this store has EVERYTHING! While this spot is small, it is mighty in style with adorable tops and dresses. Their jumpers, rompers and pant suits this season are also top notch. With clever coffee mugs and sprinkle headbands, Audrey K thoughtfully switches their styles as the seasons change – without being too on the nose. Their honest staff (Big Shout Out to Andrea!) will tell you if something looks good or not, and can help you find that special item you didn’t know you needed.
