The first permanent Lesbian bar to open in LA since 2017, The Ruby Fruit serves as a safe space not only for lesbians, but for non-binary, gender non-conforming, and the trans community as well. Open for lunch and dinner, be sure to check out their events calendar. Their karaoke nights, daytime “work-from-home” events, and poetry open mic nights all make this the perfect place to approach that babe at the bar. Plus, when their Happy Hour is all day on Monday, what are you even waiting for?
The Penmar Sunset Sessions – Venice/Marina Del Rey
You don’t have to play golf to enjoy The Penmar. Every Friday from 6 pm – 9 pm they host their Sunset Sessions, where you can enjoy some of LA’s best local bands surrounded by other picnickers, food trucks, and multiple bar stations. Also, once a month they hold a silent disco with 10 stages, 5 rotating DJs, and all ages are welcome! With incredible cocktails, such as the “El Nino Heavy Pour”; Rye Whiskey, Mezcal, Grand Marnier, vermouth, and peach bitters, you’re sure to relax happily in style. Even if you’re not a fan of golf but do enjoy “the scene,” The Penmar is a no-membership-required gastro clubhouse where you can make a reservation and enjoy a delightful meal whenever you wish!

Music and concert lovers can rejoice in this delightful Instagram account that hosts a daily list of shows happening in LA. Submitted and promoted by local bands, this is a great way to enjoy a spontaneous night where you’ll find that person who shares your love of live music. If you’re more of a weekly planner then ITK.la is for you. Not only do they share concerts, but open mics, artist showcases, and so much more.
